Facts:

  • The US-based corporations, along with their affiliated companies (Plaintiffs) and concerns were carrying on the film production business. They owned various copyright in the films produced by them.
  • The Plaintiffs revealed that RGP Netcom Ltd (Defendants) were exhibiting films on their network. They alleged that the copyrights in those works belong to the Plaintiffs and the Defendants were displaying them without licenses.
  • The Plaintiffs also alleged that most of the films shown were pirated copies of their works. The Plaintiffs approached the Court, praying for a perpetual injunction to restrain the Defendant from committing acts of infringement.
